お笑いバラエティ番組「有吉の壁」の企画で、壁芸人たちが監督になった有吉弘行の無茶ぶりに答えていく「アドリブ大河」を映画化。主演を務めるとにかく明るい安村と蛙亭のイワクラが、伝説の猿の師匠に刀を教わった剣士、宮本寂しい、町の団子屋に団子を卸すわり井直虎を演じること以外はなにも決まってない。そんな状況のなか、オーディションで選ばれた壁芸人たちは丸投げされたストーリーを作り出し、有吉が先に撮影したエンディングと繋げ、1本の時代劇作品を作るため奮闘する。
